The Biggest and oldest pohutukawa tree in NZ
The Biggest pohutukawa tree in the world is in New Zealand.It's height and age is 1000 years old and it's height is 25 metres long.People around the world just came to New Zealand to see the the biggest and oldest Pohutukawa tree in the world.
Pohutukawa trees are native to New Zealand because Pohutukawa and rata are known as New Zealand's native Christmas tree because of the bright red blooms which decorate the trees during the Christmas season.
Pohutukawa and rata belong to the myrtle family which is made up of about 3000 different tropical and warm temperate trees, shrubs and vines.
New Zealand's Christmas tree may have originated in Australia It belongs to the myrtle tree family which is found all over the South Pacific. It is also one of most widely spread flowering plant groups in the Pacific Ocean.
